“Now I’m In It” - Haim, live at The O2, London (October 2025)
/It’s taken 12 years for my lucky stars to align for my first-ever Haim gig, and now that I’m finally in it, I’ve sure got Something To Tell You.
I caught the group in the final few laps of their I Quit album tour as it passed through the UK, with The O2 Arena in London the scene for a soulful, self-assured show from the sassy sister trio.
The set swung all the way from Days Are Gone debut-album anthems to fresh deep cuts from their latest and loosest record. This new era of Haim trades some perfection for even more personality, proving that what feels slightly unpolished on record can sound thunderous onstage.

‘Million Years’ in particular surged to life as a post-punk, bass-driven rager for Este, while ‘Spinning’ turned the arena into a 20,000-person dance floor.

Falsetto-laden first single ‘Relationships,’ one of my favourite songs of 2025, had a tougher hill to climb, not least because of a rather chatty on-screen companion competing for attention.
Because yes, ‘The Sign’ was a character all on its own.
The red-lettered ticker tape wore several hats throughout the evening, whether it be loading up to 100% before kick-off, laying out lyrics, or cracking jokes.
At its best, it amped up the humour, harmony, and honesty that made this Haim gig feel part therapy session, part multi-instrumental mania (one moment Danielle was shredding guitar; the next, she was behind the drums). At its most chaotic, it risked pulling focus mid-song, like movie subtitles suddenly becoming a sentient stand-up comedian.
The energy onstage was pure affection for the British capital though.
Alana recalled how London was the first place they ever played outside the US, and remembered standing at this very venue on an early tour opening for Florence + The Machine, months before their debut had even dropped. Two O₂ headlines later, that dream’s long since come true. Speaking of dreams…

I’d been waiting for over a decade to witness these Women In Music, and when it came down to the wire, it felt right.
But just know that I want you back. On stage, and hopefully sometime soon for Pt. II.

Writer Kurt Duvel captures the sisterly synergy of Haim’s ‘I Quit’ tour at The O2 Arena in London for a night where looseness met lightning, and lucky stars finally aligned as he saw the indie-pop band live for the first time.
